What is UltraShape and how does it work?

UltraShape is unique and patented. It eliminates fat cells from specific areas of the body, without surgery, needles, anesthesia or the need for pain medication. By focusing ultrasound energy at a controlled depth, UltraShape can target and eliminate fat in just the areas that bother you the most, leaving surrounding skin, vessels, nerves and muscles intact.

Who is a candidate for UltraShape?

Both men and women can benefit from UltraShape. In fact, non-surgical fat removal is currently one of the most popular cosmetic procedures for men. Ideal candidates for UltraShape have some modest-size fat bulges that are not easily reduced through diet and exercise, such as: abdominal fat, love handles, muffin tops, leg fat, back fat, fat bulges from menopause and even arm fat in some patients. UltraShape can also work on irregularities following liposuction and other fat removal treatments. Patients that are too thin will probably not benefit from this treatment and it is not a treatment to lose weight or treat obesity. We recommend a free consultation with one of our medical assistants to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure and to review the procedure with you.

How many treatments will I need and how often?

Most body areas require 3 treatments, 2 weeks apart. Results can be seen as soon as 2 weeks after your treatment. For patients visiting from out of town or who need results fast, the first 2 treatments can be done together on the same day!

What is the treatment like? Is there pain during or after the procedure? Is there down time?

You relax comfortably during the procedure while our R.N./UltraShape specialist places the UltraShape handpiece over the treatment area. She then delivers precisely targeted ultrasound energy to the areas where fat reduction is desired. The procedure is comfortable and just feels warm, therefore no pain medication or anesthetic is needed. It is safe and completely non-invasive which allows immediate return to work, exercise and other normal activities.

Are the results permanent? How does it compare to liposuction?

Only UltraShape, CoolSculpting and liposuction remove fat cells permanently. Results from CoolSculpting and UltraShape are not as dramatic as liposuction but they do not involve the pain, risk and recovery time of liposuction.

How does it differ from other body treatments? Does anything remove cellulite?

Treatments marketed for body contouring and cellulite reduction such as endermology, Zerona and other lasers and radiofrequency devices only provide temporary improvement in the appearance of fat and cellulite. Mesotherapy, such as lipo-dissolve is controversial because it has not been well studied for safety or efficacy and involves injecting various chemicals into fat. Unfortunately, there are no non-invasive devices that can permanently remove cellulite.
