This non-surgical procedure smooths fine lines and scars, improves tone, texture, elasticity, color and gently tightens skin. Micro-needling utilizes tiny sterile micro-needles to create very small “injuries” in the skin. These microscopic injuries then heal, resulting in new collagen and elastin formation. It also allows for active ingredients, such as platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) and hyaluronic acid gels to be absorbed into deeper layers of the skin.
Radiofrequency utilizes heat to tighten skin and generate new collagen formation. Used together the results are superior to either treatment alone. Combining radiofrequency with micro-needling is like putting “micro-needling on steroids”, making it the perfect treatment between standard micro-needling and more aggressive laser treatments like Fraxel for patients who want the most results they can get with little-to-no downtime.

What does the treatment feel like?
Most patients find this treatment very comfortable. We apply a numbing ointment 1 hour prior to treatment. Most patients feel only mild stinging. This is the perfect rejuvenation treatment for patients with low pain thresholds or who prefer treatments with little-to-no pain.
What will I look like afterwards?
Many patients have mild swelling and/or redness only on the day of their treatment, although in some patients mild swelling may last for a few days. If more aggressive treatments are performed, for certain indications, pin-point bleeding may be present on the first day. Make-up may be worn the next day.
How many treatments will I need and how can I maximize my results and maintain them?
For best results we recommend you start with a series of 3-5 treatments, 1 month apart, then maintenance treatments every 3-6 months. Since your skin will continue to age, continuing your treatments on a regular basis will optimize and maintain your results.
How should I prepare for my treatments?
Avoid tanning for several weeks prior to your treatment and wear a sunscreen daily. Botox (and similar products) prior to your treatment will relax facial movement in key areas (such as crows feet, frown lines and forehead creases) allowing optimal smoothing of these areas.
What are the side effects and risks?
Temporary side effects include redness and swelling for 1-3 days, although most patients do not experience any significant side effects. Risks are rare and include discoloration and scarring.
Can Potenza be combined with other rejuvenation treatments?
Absolutely. Potenza can be combined with Botox, Jeuveau and Daxxify. It can also be combined with lasers that reduce redness (V Beam) and pigmentation (IPL, Fraxel Dual) and skin tightening (Sofwave.) Fillers are also great in combination with Potenza but should be done at least 2 months before Potenza or anytime afterwards.
