Sheila Maitlen: How far should they spread those treatments out?

Dr. Lorrie Klein: You should spread the treatments out over several months. Two to three months apart is fine.

Sheila Maitlen: So, Dr. Klein, how many treatments does a patient need to have before they can actually start seeing results with Coolsculpting?

Dr. Lorrie Klein: Patients can usually see results after one treatment. More treatments can be done to bring more results.

Sheila Maitlen: After the Coolsculpting procedure, is there anything the patient needs to do once they get home? For example, drinking a lot of water or anything special for the treatment to work and be more enhanced?

Dr. Lorrie Klein: Actually, the nice thing about Coolsculpting is that you donâ’t have to do anything. Diet and exercise are great, everyone should do that. But thereâ’s no instructions that you have to do it. There are no instructions that you have to drink water. You just go home and do your normal thing.

Sheila Maitlen: So, Dr. Klein, does Coolsculpting actually work for cellulite?

Dr. Lorrie Klein: You know, it really doesnâ’t work for cellulite per se. But because cellulite is caused by fat pushing out against these little fibrous septae under the skin that look like a quilt, well, if you have less stuffing in the quilt, you donâ’t see those compartments so much. So if you have less fat, you donâ’t see the cellulite as much. Indirectly, it does help a little.
